Vermont, Stowe
Hey fellow snow enthusiasts! Let me take you on a wild ride through my recent adventure at Stowe, Vermont – a hidden gem nestled amidst the picturesque landscapes of New England. Strap in and get ready for an exhilarating journey filled with powder-packed slopes, cozy coffee stops, and unexpected thrills!
Setting off early from Boston, MA, Natasa and I embarked on a road trip to Stowe, craving some mountain magic. With scenic vistas painting our journey along Route 93 to 89, we couldn't resist a pit stop in Montpelier, Vermont's charming capital. Fueling up at Bohemian with hearty Italian sandwiches and steaming cups of coffee, we knew we were in for an epic day ahead.
As a first-time visitor to Stowe, I was blown away by the sheer magnitude of the mountain. With adrenaline coursing through my veins, we dove headfirst into a weekend filled with snowboarding bliss. Saturday greeted us with a radiant sun and soft, powdery snow – a bluebird day straight out of a winter dream. Riding the Fourrunner and Gondola, we carved our way through pristine trails, soaking in every breathtaking moment.
Sunday dawned with rain, but that didn't dampen our spirits. Seeking refuge in the cozy confines of the Talta Hotel, we embraced the elements and hit the slopes once more. With low visibility at mid-mountain, we found solace riding the Gondola, where rain transformed into a magical snowfall. It was as close to a powder day as I'd ever experienced in New England, and I was living for every moment of it.
After refueling at Whistle Pig, we ventured to Spruce Peak, discovering a haven of beginner terrain and hidden gems. Off the Sensation Quad, we stumbled upon untouched pockets of snow, carving our own path through the winter wonderland. It was a delightful surprise, adding an extra layer of excitement to an already unforgettable weekend.
Reflecting on my time at Stowe, I couldn't help but marvel at the sheer fun and adventure packed into those two days. From the adrenaline rush of conquering steep terrain to the cozy comforts of local eateries, it was a journey worth savoring. And while luck may have smiled upon us with perfect conditions, I'm already itching to return for more mountain magic in the future.
So, fellow thrill-seekers, if you're craving an unforgettable snowboarding experience, look no further than Stowe, Vermont. With its breathtaking scenery, diverse terrain, and endless opportunities for adventure, it's a destination that promises to leave you exhilarated and craving more.
